CDL FC on the road to face SC United Bantams

Cincinnati, OH, July 1 2014– The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (5-1-3) is looking for another win against the SC United Bantams (1-7-2) after a hard fought 2-0 win against the same team on Sunday evening. The Lions are currently in 2nd position with three points behind the West Virginia Chaos but the Lions still have three games in hand. A win tomorrow would move the team in first place. Cincinnati, OH, July 1 2014

Head Coach Terry Nicholls commented on the game: ” We have injury concerns, Winger Jordy Grant is out, as is  Chris Dupont. This will keep Ryan Meyer in his anchor midfield role with Kyle Smith and Chris Harman playing infront of him. I have decided to move Logan Gumbert forward on the wing with Brian Causey slotting in behind at full back.”

A late goal from Austin Pierce after great work from Kevin Walker and a splendid headed goal from Jeff McClure after a great cross from Captain Rowin was all that seperated the teams.
I expect another difficult battle. We must learn to take our early chances to take the pressure off the games.

Captain Rowin van Zaanen commented on the upcoming game: “We played a good game against the SC United Bantams last Sunday. In the game we created a lot of opportunities and our defense was steady. The team spirit is good and we had some good practices this week so we will travel with a lot of confidence to South Carolina.”

After the game the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will return to Cincinnati for their last home game against Carolina Dynamo on Saturday July 5 at 7.30pm.
