CDL FC play crucial game against Carolina Dynamo on Saturday

Cincinnati, OH, June 4 2014  – The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (5-2-3) is looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday against the SC United Bantams (2-7-2). The Lions were leading 1-0 in the 89th minute but ended up losing 2-1 after two goals in final minutes of the game. The loss makes the game on Saturday against the Carolina Dynamo (4-4-1) crucial since 5 teams are still in the running for the Conference Championship. It’s also the last home game for the Lions in their first season. Kickoff 7.30PM at Xavier University.

Head Coach Terry Nicholl commented on the upcoming game: “our last game ended in a disappointing loss while we had taken the lead late in the game. Our youthful exuberance got us ahead in the game but also may have cost us, as we were still concerned with over commitment to attack when we should have sealed off the game with 5-6 minutes to go. It now puts more pressure on the remaining games. On a positive note, Tanner Patrick is back in contention giving us more experience in the midfield, and Matt Hill as a full back. I have been pleased with our bench (the younger players) coming in with their energy, we need to get back to that formula. It is normally our experienced players who get us leads, we need to start taking our early chances again. Crazy enough our possession percentage has been better in our 2 losses! We need to keep that up but maintain integrity at the back.”

After the game the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will travel south to play back to back games on Friday and Saturday July 11 and 12 against the West Virginia Chaos and Carolina Dynamo.
