CDL FC travel south for Championship weekend

Cincinnati, OH, July 10 2014 – After a great final home game (3-0 win against the Carolina Dynamo) in front of over 500 fans, the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (6-2-3, 21 points in 11 games) is travelling South this weekend to play the West Virginia Chaos (6-3-3, 21 points in 12 games) on Friday and the Carolina Dynamo (5-5-1, 16 points in 11 games) on Saturday. In case the Lions win both games they would clinch the South Atlantic Conference Championship. Four points in both games could also be enough depending on other results. The big game is on Friday when the Lions play number two in the standings, the West Virginia Chaos. Earlier in the season the Lions played the Chaos twice already at home, resulting in a 3-1 win and later a 3-1 loss.

Head Coach Terry Nicholl commented on the upcoming games: “I am very much looking forward to what could be called a “decider” on Friday, because the decision of this game will likely provide the Conference winning team. We finished our last game on a high note and we need to find the same effective performances from everyone. We looked good going forward and tight at the back. Energy and enthusiasm will be needed in these tough back-to-back games helping us to power past our opponents”.

After this weekend the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will travel to Louisville for their last regular season game against River City Rovers on Saturday July 19.
