Three Strikers Added to CDLFC Squad

Christian Alexander

Three more players have been added to the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC Squad for this season. Three young quality strikers have been added to our roster. Christian Alexander of Cedarville University, Jack Clark of the University of Cincinnati and Brendan Murphy will add depth to the attacking third of the pitch.

Christian Alexander joins the Lions after previously having played for the Cincinnati Saints of the NPSL. The 5-11 junior brings lots of pace and an instant burst in the attack. Starting 12 games for the Yellow Jackets, Alexander finished second on the team in both goals (6) and assists (2). He would finish All-Ohio Second Team and Second Team All Conference.

Jack Clark

Jack Clark joins the Dutch Lions after his freshman year at the University of Cincinnati. Clark was highly recruited out of high school after earning NSCAA All-American Honors as a senior, while earning a 4 out of 5 star rating by Top Drawer Soccer. Playing in 11 games as a freshman, the 5-8 striker recorded three shots on goal. For Jack, the opportunity to play for the Dutch Lions is a great opportunity.

“I look forward to playing with some of the best talent in the area. Training and playing against older guys helps me continue to improve my game and learn things I didn’t already know. I also look forward to being coached by Terry, he understands the game of soccer very well and is extremely passionate.”

Brendan Murphy

Brendan Murphy becomes our second Northern Kentucky University signing following his teammate Austin Pierce. Murphy who just finished his career at NKU is a skilled forward from England. Standing at a strong 6-1 and 170 pounds, Murphy will look to be the target man at the top of the formation. Looking to continue playing over the summer, Murphy is excited to see where this group can go.

“I am excited to play in a competitive team within a competitive league, I am also intrigued to see how far this group of players can go this season.”

Assistant Coach Scott Cagle had this to say about his attacking threesome.

“Christian Alexander is a young, but experienced talent. He can change a game with his speed and strength. For Jack and Brendan, it will be great to have two young guys also on the squad. They will be able to learn and contribute on the attacking third. With a strong group of strikers, hopefully we will see a lot more scoring this season.”

The Cincinnati Dutch Lions home opener is this upcoming Saturday May 16th at the Xavier University Soccer Complex. Kickoff is at 7:30 as the Lions face off against the Carolina Dynamo.
