CDLFC vs SC United Game Preview

Cincinnati, OH June 12, 2015 –The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC continued their winning ways last night, June 11th, securing a 1-0 victory over SC United Bantams. After a slow start to the season for Cincinnati, they have now put together a two game win streak. It’s a short turnaround now for the Lions as they host the Bantams again on Saturday evening.

The first game against the Bantams was a tough, physical matchup. With temperatures reaching the 90’s on the field, the game started slowly, with both teams trying to find a rhythm. The game would not open up until the second half when Chris DuPont connected off an Alejandro Garcia pass, which he calmly placed into the left hand netting. The Lions would hold on for the 1-0 victory.

With the long drive for SC United Bantmas, the game on Saturday has officially been moved to 5:00 PM. Following last nights result the Lions now sit eight points behind first place Charlotte, and only three points behind second place Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors.

For Dutch Lions assistant coach Scott Cagle, he has been happy with the progress his team has made the last few weeks.

“Obviously it’s great getting the win last night. Its going to be important for us moving forward to win our home matches. We’ve had two shut outs in a row and we need to build on that to help move up in the table. We need to focus on getting a clean sheet, then another and another. We also need to be better in front of goal. There were lots of opportunities to open the game up, but we just missed hitting our marks.”

The Xavier University Soccer Complex can be found at 3800 Victory Pkwy, Cincinnati, OH 45229. Single game tickets are available at the gate for $10.00. Kids under 12 cost $5.00. Season passes are available for $20.00 for our remaining home games.
