Dutch Lions Look to Shake Slow Start Against Bucks

Dutch Lions Face off Against Michigan Bucks

Cincinnati, OH June 3, 2015 –The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will be looking to shake off a slow start to their PDL season tonight versus the defending PDL champs, the Michigan Bucks. After starting the season with a 0-1-2 record, the Lions will be looking to change their season around tonight.

Last weekend the Lions lost 2-0 against the West Virginia Chaos in Charleston, West Virginia. Against a tough Chaos team, the Lions had a difficult time controlling possession, and made a few errors, which cost the team points. The Lions did have their chances with strikes by Oriol Cortes, Chris Dupont and Kyle Smith just missing their marks.

The Michigan Bucks of the Great Lakes division visit Cincinnati tonight in a cross-divisional match up. It will be a tough test for the Lions after the Bucks won the PDL last season with a very talented roster. The Bucks are coached by Gary Parsons, formally of Oakland University. While at Oakland, Parsons was quite successful, amassing over 300 victories and achieving NCAA tournament birth 17 times.

For assistant coach Scott Cagle , the matchup tonight against the Bucks will be a great test for the rest of the season.

“Its going to be a tough game. Michigan is in first place in their conference. Tonight we have to get back to our winning ways. We’ve been playing well, but haven’t been able to get on the win sheet. We’ve had a good week of practice, so hopefully tonight we come out with a strong performance and get the victory.”

The Xavier University Soccer Complex can be found at 3800 Victory Pkwy, Cincinnati, OH 45229. Single game tickets are available at the gate for $10.00. Kids under 12 cost $5.00. Season passes are available for $40.00
