Lions Push Towards Playoffs At Final Home Match

Dutch Lions Push Towards Playoffs At Last Home Game at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton

Cincinnati, OH July 2, 2015- The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC are back at home for the last home game of the 2015 season. After a string of dominant displays, the Lions are now sitting in second place in the South Atlantic Division. With a strong performance and victory in their home finale, the Lions could potentially lock in a spot for the PDL Play-In Playoff game.

Standing in the way of the Lions is the Southern West Virginia Kings Warriors. The Warriors currently sit in fourth with 13 points. The Lions were previously able to defeat the Warriors at their home by a score of 2-0. It was the Lions first victory of the season. A strong team overall, the Warriors are coached by John Miglarese. When not with the Warriors, Miglarese coaches the King University men’s soccer team.

Last weekend, the Lions were able to test out new tactics and strategies against the Columbus Crew Academy U23 team. This allowed the Cincinnati coaching staff the opportunity to see how the team has progressed while giving players minutes to keep their form up.

For Lions assistant coach Bruno Lopes, the game this Friday is of the upmost importance.

“The game against the Crew was great for us to see where we are as a team. We worked hard this week. I am looking forward to the game against the Warriors. After winning six games in a row, you want to maintain the great form we have been in. We have to be focused and keep our feet on the ground. Southern West Virginia is a great team and its not going to be easy.”

As previously announced the final home game of 2015 will be played at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton, Ohio. The stadium can be found at 5833 Student Street, Dayton, Oh. 45449. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12.
