CDL re-signs Terry Nicholl as Head Coach

Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC announce the re-signing of Terri Nicholl as the team’s Head Coach for the 2016 Premier Development League season.

“I am excited to be returning to CDL FC for our third year in the PDL and to build on the success we have achieved in the past. We reached the playoffs last season and are targeting similar results this year.  The lads we bring in give us a strong effort and are committed to the training needed to succeed,” Nicholl said.  “We could not be happier to have Coach Nicholl returning.  The experience and professionalism that he displays is first-class,” shared CDL FC Operating Director Ric Campbell.

“Terry is like minded in his approach to the game, the motivation he brings to the club and the drive for our players to reach their potential both on and off the field. Add that to his extensive coaching background, nine years at the professional level and over 35 years with youth players, and we are very content with the leadership of our squad.”

Coach Nicholl’s coaching resume is filled with numerous Coach of the year honors, All-Star designations and note-worthy players he elevated to the highest level.  Over the years his youth club squads have won 11 Ohio South State Cup, 4 MRL Premier and 3 National League championships, as well as many prestigious national youth tournaments.  He holds an “A” Full Badge coaching license which he earned with the Union of European Football Associations.

Coach Nicholl’s playing career rivals the success of his coaching accolades.  He was signed professionally at the age of 17 by Crewe Alexandra in Cheshire, England.  He fulfilled his dream of playing in England’s First Division when he transferred to Sheffield United playing 3 years with the club.  His professional career eventually brought him to the United States playing for the Wichita Wings and Memphis Storm.
