LIONS HEADED UP NORTH

Cincinnati, OH (June 15, 2016)  The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (1-4-2  5 points) will leave tomorrow morning for their 7:30pm kickoff versus the Michigan Bucks (4-1-1  12 points) at Catholic Central HS in Novi, MI.  This will be the second meeting of the two teams, as the Bucks won 3-0 in late May.  The Lions are looking to get points on this trip.

“We are at the mid-point of the season and really need to get points from every match going forward if we want to have a chance for the playoffs.  We had a similar run last year where we were able to put 7 matches together that pushed us up the standings and we need to do that again.  We are working hard in practice to get the right combinations and proper formation that will yield us the best results.  We are constantly looking at each match to find the right match ups,” said Head Coach Terry Nicholl.

The Lions ended their losing streak this past Sunday with a 1-1 tie versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.   Goalkeeper Dane Wilson provided a stellar performance to keep the Lions in the game.   He made multiple point blank saves that frustrated the Riverhounds.

The CDL will be home next week for two games, but they will be at different venues than the previous home matches.

On Wednesday, June 22nd, they host K-W United at Withrow High School at 7:00pm.  The stadium address is 2488 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45208.

On Saturday, June 25th, they host K-W United for a second game at 2:00pm at Doc Stadium.  The stadium address is 5833 Student Street, West Carrollton, OH 45449.

Tickets are available online at www.ddlfc.com or can be purchased at the gate.  Adult $8.00 and Youth $5.00…..5 and under are always free.
