The Premier Development League named their eleventh Team of the Week and CDL FC midfielder Chris Dupont (Montreal, Canada) earned Honorable Mention honors. Dupont played his best soccer the final week of the season scoring all three of the Lions goals in their three matches.

He played 90 minutes in the Lions away match at Derby City and scored both goals in the 3-2 loss . His quality touch and ability to read the game allowed him to find some very dangerous offensive spots.  He followed that with a strong performance in Pittsburgh patrolling the midfield and pushing forward.

He scored the opening goal in the final match at home versus Derby and almost doubled the score minutes later with a half-volley that hit the crossbar.  His goal was the result of his experience and knowing when to take a shot as he fired near post over the Rover keeper’s shoulder.

“It is always nice to be recognized individually, but the real recognition is for each of my teammates who fought through a disappointing season and became better players.  Our team was young and I believe each player will go back to his school having grown from playing this summer.  We never stopped fighting and though the wins did not come our effort can never be questioned. ,” shared Dupont when he heard of the honor. “I so appreciate the support of our coaching staff, team management and our owners.  They never quit on us and it made it fun to be a Dutch Lion.”

Chris was one of the team’s trip-captains in his third year with the Lions.
