“Partners in Soccer”

As part of Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC’s community outreach program, we are excited to announce our first official “Partners in Soccer” with youth club, Total Futbol Academy (TFA), starting in the spring of 2017. CDLFC players and staff will attend several practice sessions from TFA’s youth teams and TFA members will be able to attend CDLFC games at a discounted rate.

Total Futbol Academy represents the city of Cincinnati at a variety of youth levels and bases its player development philosophy of the Dutch Total Futbol methods that believes in the development of the total player.

“TFA is excited to announce a partnership with the Cincinnati Dutch Lions”, said TFA’s Executive Director of Coaching, Erik Schoening, “We, at TFA, are always looking for ways to enrich the experience, not just for our membership, but for the entire soccer community. Fostering this relationship, we believe, will be a great addition to an already vibrant soccer scene. Having the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC work with our players is an exciting opportunity, and one that we believe is in alignment with our model of player development. TFA is excited to be a part of the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC community, and we look forward to coming out to support the team.”

The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC operate a men’s team that competes in the PDL, the highest level of amateur soccer in the country. It is the club’s mission to assist young and talented players in achieving their goal of playing professional soccer.

“We are very excited with the opportunity of partnering up with TFA and are looking forward to interact with the youth teams and be part of the development of their soccer and social skills”, said CDLFC’s Technical Director, Sid van Druenen, “Building strong relationships within the local soccer community is extremely important to us and we are grateful for the opportunity Erik Schoening and TFA are giving us. It is our goal to build a strong relationship with TFA and all of its members and hope to have a strong TFA presence during our home games.”

The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC will start their 2017 season at home, Sunday May 21st against West Virginia Chaos. Kick-off is set for 6:00pm and this will also be TFA night, meaning that TFA youth players will have the opportunity to walk on the field with CDLFC’s players, participate as ball retrievers and showcase their soccer skills during half time.
