The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC, in preparation for the 2017 PDL season, the highest level of amateur soccer in the USA, is happy to release more information on recent signings. The newest seven additions to the roster bring the roster up to 19 players announced. More announcements to come as the season nears, but here are the latest players to your Cincinnati Dutch Lions!

A native of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Clay Musgrave joins CDLFC from Defiance College (Ohio). A 6’5″ goalkeeper, Musgrave completed his sophomore season at Defiance earning Honorable Mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference after starting all 18 games on the season, collecting 121 saves, and finishing with a .733 save percentage. Musgrave was identified through the Cincinnati Dutch Lion’s open tryout in February 2017.

Nicolas Rodriguez hails from Boca Raton, Florida and plays forward at Ohio Valley University in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Rodriguez completed his sophomore season at OVU tied for second on the team in goals scored. Like Musgrave, Rodriguez was identified through the February 2017 open tryout.

Wright State product and 2017 MLS SuperDraft pick by the Colorado Rapids, Peguy Ngatcha, brings an attacking flair to the Cincinnati Dutch Lions after a college career saw him score 39 goals in four years. During Ngatcha’s senior year at Wright State, he was NSCAA First Team All-Great Lakes Region, OSCA First Team All-Ohio, Horizon League Player of the Year, Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year, and led the Raiders to its first-ever Horizon League regular season title. The Cameroon native played youth soccer with New England Revolution USSDA where he had 12 goals and 6 assists.

Ohio native and Wright State product, Samuel DeRoy, joins former teammate Ngatcha in Cincinnati this summer. DeRoy is no stranger to the Dutch Lions philosophy as he was a former member of the 2016 Dayton Dutch Lions. DeRoy, an All-Horizon League midfielder, has played in 55 career games for Wright State while adding 2 goals and 8 assists.

Identified from the March tryout in the Netherlands, Boris Rasevic brings Dutch Eredivisie experience to Cincinnati. The midfielder has spent three years with PEC Zwolle in the top professional division. Rasevic was trained at the prestigous FC Emmen academy then transferred to PEC Zwolle where he helped win their only KNVB Cup.

Patrick Guier is coming to Cincinnati from an NCAA Division II National Championship appearance with the University of Charleston. Guier finished the season with 9 goals and 19 assists while becoming and NSCAA All-American. Hailing from Germany, Guier gained valuable experience with Borussia Mönchengladbach and the German U16 and U17 national teams.

Cincinnati native, Austin Smythe is the latest player to join the Cincinnati Dutch Lions. Smythe developed at Summit Country Day and Ohio Elite Soccer Academy before entering his college career. Now a Cincinnati Bearcat, Smythe played his freshman year at Radford collecting 1 goal and 2 assists. During his sophomore year, Smythe came home to UC where he scored 1 goal.
