CDLFC to play FCC

The Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC (CDLFC) are excited to announce two events arranged in coordination with FC Cincinnati. On June 17, CDLFC will be playing Derby City Rovers at Gettler Stadium (4:00pm) on the campus of the University of Cincinnati as a pregame event before FC Cincinnati plays Charleston Battery at their home venue of Nippert Stadium (7:00pm). The second event involves CDLFC hosting FC Cincinnati Reserves for a friendly on July 16 to conclude the CDLFC home schedule at Northern Kentucky University’s soccer stadium.

FC Cincinnati will be entering into their second season in the United Soccer League (USL). Head Coach Alan Koch will be leading FCC for the 2017 campaign which opens up on Saturday March 25 at Charleston Battery. The inaugural 2016 season for FCC saw them finish third overall in USL with a 16-6-8 record while producing the USL Most Valuable Player (Sean Okoli) and USL Goalkeeper of the Year (Mitch Hildebrandt). While 2016 USL leading scorer Okoli has moved on to MLS-member New York City FC, Hildebrandt and Harrison Delbridge return for FCC as 2016 USL First Team honorees. Seventeen players return to the Queen City from the 2016 squad. Notable returnees: Tyler Polak (led field players in minutes played), Andrew Wiedeman (second on team in goals and points, 7 and 18, respectively), and Corben Bone and Omar Cummings (team leaders in assists).

As the Cincinnati Dutch Lions prepare for the 2017 PDL season under new ownership and staffing, the Club strives to develop and produce the highest quality players, play an attractive style, and get players into the professional soccer ranks. The 2016 CDLFC squad saw Jake Stovall get drafted in the 3rd round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Seattle Sounders FC. The 2017 roster is shaping up nicely with the recent announcement of five players, with unreleased signings having credentials of MLS SuperDraft pick, FC Cincinnati, Dutch Youth National team, Curaçao Senior National team, and PSV Eindhoven experience.

The July 16 event will be the first-ever meeting between CDLFC and FCC. You can get access to both CDLFC events by purchasing season tickets. Season tickets are available for preorder, email or call 859-746-5250. Full CDLFC schedule can be found here. Individual game tickets will be available at a later date.
